Halloween Kills is coming to streaming

In our first story, we have some huge news about the upcoming Halloween Kills. Halloween Kills will be coming home to Peacock the same day as its theatrical release which is October 15th

With the pandemic still in full swing, cinema movie going won’t be getting back to normal for at least the remainder of the year. As a result, release dates and plans are changing every moment so this move comes as no surprise. Even if Universal previously said that Halloween Kills was going to be a Theater exclusive.

Even though I plan to see it at the first available showing at my theater, I think that this move is a good thing. Anyone who wants to see it now can. So if you want to stream it from the comfort of your own home, you’ll find Halloween Kills on Peacock come October 15th. Let me know in the comments if you plan to stream the film from home, or venture out into theaters.

Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin on Paramount+

In similar news, Paramount and Blumhouse’s upcoming new installment in the Paranormal Activity franchise will be going straight to Paramount+ on October 29th.

In a Press Release sent out earlier this week Paramount had this to say about the upcoming entry.

“From Paramount Players, the new film will bring fans an unexpected reimagining of the beloved horror franchise,” - Paramount

Paramount also gave us the first teaser to the film which indeed suggests a new form for the franchise. Without much to go on it appears that we are in for some sort of cult stuff similar to previous films but without the found footage style.

New movie Flesh starring Danielle Harris

In other news, Danielle Harris returns to the horror genre with the upcoming Flesh. The film is said to involve “a deranged individual who wants to sacrifice human flesh to a malevolent spirit.” Director of Chasing Nightmares Chris McGowan will be behind the camera and Danielle Harris will be starring as well as being an executive producer.

I for one love Danielle Harris so I am excited to see what Flesh has to offer.

I know what you did last summer - Amazon Prime Video

In other quick news, Amazon Prime Video released the teaser for their upcoming, eight-episode, series titled ‘I know what you did last summer’. This series is a reboot of 1997’s film of the same name. The first episode will premiere on October 15th and will be released in weekly installments every Friday.

I am a little apprehensive about this new series. Based on the teaser it seems to be goofier than MTV’s Scream TV series. As well as appearing to get rid of fisherman and moving to a more traditional knife-wielding mystery antagonist. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Jeepers Creepers Reborn gets a new release date

Onto our big story. Thanks to Movie Fone, it looks like Jeepers Creepers Reborn has a new release date! Originally rumored to come out during September Jeepers Creepers Reborn is supposed to be the first entry to a new trilogy that is separate from the original three movies.

Reborn has a massive hill to climb to detach itself from the stain that is Victor Salva. Which to be honest, I don’t think is ever going to go away. That honestly kind of sucks. I love the original Jeepers Creepers movie and had it in such high regard before learning about the dark past of the film’s creator. I even enjoy the second film for what it was. Jeepers Creepers 3 however just sucks.

So even though I think the Jeepers Creepers may have a popularity cap. I am excited for a chance to see the franchise be reborn. And am hopeful that with the new direction of the franchise, it could find some success. Because there is potential here.

Thanks to some footage released by CSUNLIMITED on YouTube, we can see that the new film is upholding the dark look of the original movie. Luckily we won’t have to wait too much longer to see what this soft reboot has to offer. Screen Media promised a fall 2021 release and it looks like Jeepers Creepers Reborn is scheduled to hit cinemas on October 28th, 2021. Now we don’t yet know if the release is going to be exclusive to theaters or if there will be a streaming release alongside it. Being that October 28th is just a month and a half away and we don’t even have a trailer tells me that Screen Media isn’t super hopeful about the project. So I expect to see it coming to streaming as well.

So what do we even know about the new Jeepers Creepers? Well, details released say we will be following a new lead named Chase as he and his girlfriend Laine stop at a horror festival in Louisiana. That’s when they begin to experience visions or premonitions associated with the town’s dark past and the creature known as The Creeper. So again, not a whole lot to go on but apparently we are going to find out soon.

The Lost Boys Coming Back to the Big Screen

In future news, The Lost Boys will be coming back to the big screen. It will also be starring ‘Quiet Place’s’ Noah Jupe & ‘It’s’ Jaeden Martell as leads. Details about the upcoming project are slim right now but we do know that the Warner Bros. developed film will be set in modern-day times. My hunch says that after the popularity of 2018’s Halloween and the most recent Candyman, that this film will be a reboot/direct sequel to the original Lost Boys release in 1987.

Over the last few years, various other Lost Boys projects were in the works but never got off the ground. From a fourth movie to a Frog Brothers TV series, to the most recently discussed television series that CW was trying to produce. None of those really gained much traction but it’s cool to know that The Lost Boys will be coming back in the future.

VHS 94 Trailer Released

Lastly, the official trailer for the fourth installment of the Bloody Disgusting-produced horror anthology franchise VHS94 was released. VHS94 will have a world premiere at Fantastic Fest at the end of September but will be hitting Horror Streaming service Shudder on October 6th.

Earlier in the week, IGN debuted the official trailer for the film. VHS94’s synopsis states “after the discovery of a mysterious VHS tape, a brutish police swat team launch a high-intensity raid on a remote warehouse, only to discover a sinister cult compound whose collection of pre-recorded material uncovers a nightmarish conspiracy.”

And that’s gonna wrap up this week's horror movie news but be sure to check out our first article in our Rank the Kills series, where we took a look at the original Halloween and ranked all the kills in the film from worst to best. See you next time!
