“The Boy who cried ACL’s”

Nevermind the headline, but ACLs are NO Joke. Many athletes on any level from any field know how devastating tearing your knees up can be. Superstar free agent Odell Beckham Jr. recently reflected on his Super Bowl winning season with the LA Rams. Via his twitter he expressed “really played the whole back half without an ACL, and won a Super Bowl! God doesn’t miss, I swea”.

Truth is, the electric playmaker is right! Only God can keep you upright and productive on a football field without important ligaments being fully functional. NFL Networks Ian Rapoport cosigned Beckhams journey on Pat McAcfees Show in April. Ian saying “When Odell tore his ACL with the Browns…he had his ACL done. It did not sound like it went as well as anyone would have hoped”. Rapoport went on to explain “it was not 100 percent healthy”.

Only 29 in his football journey, Odell caught 17 passes gaining 232 yards with the Browns before being released. Later to be picked up on a one year deal joining an already impressive receiving core and a “hungry for success” Quarterback in Matthew Stafford. There was so much hype pairing with Coooper Kupp, Robert Woods, and even Van Jefferson. Ironically, Woods would eventually tear his ACL before the season.

All in all, we were happy to see “Odelly” hoist The Lombardi Trophy. Scoring that spectacular touchdown in the biggest game of his career. After what he has endured, both highs and lows. This is a story book chapter in his life and we can all hope that he heals, once and for all.
